Newburg Children’s Museum (NCM) “Song-A-Thon 2010” -
A Children’s Talent Show

Saturday May 8TH, 2010 at 6:30PM at the Lyric Live Theater, Newburg, MO
(Dress rehearsal WEDNESDAY MAY 5TH AT 5:00PM)

This is a fundraiser for the Newburg Children’s Museum of Natural History. NCM is asking local area youths to donate their time and talent for this worthy cause. All performers are asked to line out their donor-sponsors before the night of the performance. There will be blue ribbons for the winning acts in each category for each of the age groups based on their performance. There will be a “NCM Financial Champion 2010” trophy presented to the act that brings in the most money for the Museum. The museum is currently attempting to raise $15,000 for some necessary electrical work, a heating/cooling system for the museum and weatherizing of the hundred plus year old building that houses the museum.

Gifts of gratitude to be given to every child who participates include a free DVD of the entire show and 1 free ticket to a 2010 Lyric Live Theater Production. (Tickets to be used for a choice of dates.)

The winning act, in each age group will receive 4 free tickets to a 2010 season Lyric Live Production. Tickets to be used for a choice of dates.

McDonalds has contributed gift certificates for one free ice cream to each child participating in the show. NCM invites any local businesses that would like to contribute gifts to the participants to do so by calling Maureen Hall 573-364-0517. The names of each of the contributing businesses will be mentioned from the stage the night of the performance.

Performers registration packets are available at the Houston House in Newburg, MO, at Newburg City Hall or online.

All participants please include a short bio of yourself to be put in the Program that will be handed out at the door the night of the performance. All talent must fill out a registration form and return it to Newburg Children’s Museum, Newburg City Hall or mail to NCM Talent Show, P.O. Box 31, Newburg, MO 65550.

Talent categories include; Instrumentals, Singing, Dancing, Poetry, Drama, and Comedy

Children are divided by ages as follows; (3-5), (6-9), (10-13), (14-16) years old.

Each act is limited to 5 – 8 minutes for their performance.
